SUMMARY:5th Annual Overdose Awareness Vigil
DESCRIPTION:Senator Tim Kearney and I will be hosting our annual Overdose Awareness Vigil at 7:00 p.m.\, on Thursday\, August 28\, in front of the Delaware County Courthouse in Media\, PA. \nThis year marks the fifth consecutive time that we’ve teamed up to raise awareness and combat the stigma surrounding overdoses. \nWe are inviting the entire community to come out and show support to family members and friends who have lost a loved one due to a drug-related death.   \nSeveral local organizations are confirmed to participate and will be onsite to provide substance-use disorder resources and other helpful information to those who may need it. \nDid You Know: \nAnnually\, August 31 is recognized as International Overdose Awareness Day and is a chance for the broader public to join in remembering and honoring the lives lost to overdose.  The day also aims to reduce the stigma associated with substance-related deaths.
