Delaware County June 22, 2023 − State Senator John I. Kane, State Senator Tim Kearney, and Delaware County Council are pleased to announce they are co-hosting a Delco Broadband and Digital Equity Community Conversation at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27 at Widener University in Chester, PA. 

The event is aimed at gathering community input on the broadband infrastructure and digital equity needs of Delaware County residents.

Senator Kane, Senator Kearney, Delaware County Council will be joined by the PA Broadband Development Authority (PBDA) as co-hosts for the Community Conversation. This event is geared to attract Delaware County residents, non-profits, community leaders, local elected officials, community and faith-based organizations, school districts, hospitals, public libraries, housing authorities, and others.

“This is an excellent opportunity for Delco residents to share their thoughts and concerns about the broadband infrastructure and digital equity needs in their community,” said Senator Kane. “I look forward to hearing from our community and working together to ensure that every Delco resident has access to affordable broadband and digital skills. Providing access to affordable broadband and digital skills is essential to a thriving community and economy, and we are committed to working with the community to address these needs.”

The Delco Broadband and Digital Equity Community Conversation will provide a platform for Delaware County residents to share their thoughts and concerns on the broadband infrastructure and digital equity needs in their community.

“The digital divide is a pressing issue that affects the livelihoods of countless Pennsylvanians,” said Senator Kearney. “By hosting this community meeting, we are taking a crucial step towards bridging that gap and ensuring that every individual has access to reliable high-speed internet. I urge all members of our community to join us and share their valuable insights, as this feedback will be instrumental in shaping Pennsylvania’s broadband expansion plans and driving economic growth across the state.”

The public is strongly encouraged to attend. A boxed meal will be provided for all participants.  RSVP is not required but is helpful.
