NEWTOWN SQUAREMarch 27, 2024 – Today, Rep. Lisa Borowski and Sen. John Kane, both D-Delaware, announced $734,640 in state funding to improve roadways that provide access to the mixed-use development near West Chester Pike and North Crum Creek Road in Edgmont Township.

The area, situated along a four-lane highway, is under further development and already contains green space, residential homes, restaurants, and retail shopping.

“I’m pleased to see state support for township efforts to keep traffic moving safely and efficiently,” Borowski said. “Edgmont has some exciting projects underway in this area for both local residents and visitors to enjoy, and these roadway improvements will go miles in avoiding the traffic headaches that usually accompany development projects. I’m sure my constituents will be glad to hear the news, too!”

“This major investment will go a long way in enhancing safety and accessibility for our folks in our district,” said Kane said. “This funding underscores our ongoing commitment to the community, paving the way for even more progress and enhancements. I will continue to champion for funding that improves our district’s transportation.”

The Commonwealth Financing Authority awarded the grant from the Multimodal Transportation Fund, which provides funding to develop, rehabilitate and enhance modes of transportation across Pennsylvania.
