June 16, 2025 − Three local organizations have been awarded funding through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) during their June 12 meeting.
The awarded organizations include:
- PA State System of Higher Education Foundation: $174,428 for their Motivational Interviewing-Based Wellness Coaching project serving Chester and Delaware Counties
- Neumann University: $212,650 for their Substance Abuse Prevention program
- Delaware County Chief Executive Officer: $86,839 for the DCOME Forensic Science Initiative
“These awards represent real hope and help for our communities,” said Senator Kane. “Substance abuse tears lives, communities, and families apart, and we know that prevention is key. The dedicated folks at these organizations are doing the hard work day in and day out to make our communities stronger and healthier. I want to thank them not just for securing this funding, but for showing up every day ready to help our neighbors when they need it most.”
The funding comes through PCCD’s State Substance Abuse Education and Demand Reduction (SAEDR) program and the Federal Paul Coverdell Forensic Science Improvement Funds. These awards were approved pending outstanding fiscal or programmatic concerns.
