Chester, PA – January 6, 2021 – Senator John Kane (D, Delaware/Chester) congratulated West Chester and Cheyney Universities on receiving over $55,000 in grants through Governor Wolf’s It’s On Us PA program, to help end sexual violence on campus and improve campus safety.

“Sexual violence will not be tolerated,” said Governor Wolf. “All colleges and universities must be safe for students. The It’s On Us PA grant program was created to provide colleges and universities with supports and resources necessary to shift campus culture and promote healthy relationships.”

Senator Kane congratulated West Chester University (West Chester, PA) and Cheyney University (Cheyney, PA) on grants of $29,574 and $26,218, respectively.

“According to the National Sexual Violence Resource Center, one in five women and one in 16 men are sexually assaulted while attending college. That is absolutely unacceptable. These grants are a critical step towards ending sexual violence on campus and ensuring our colleges and universities can keep their students safe and able to engage in the classroom. My congratulations to West Chester and Cheyney on receiving grants to do this important work.”
