Chester, PA – January 26, 2021 – Senator John Kane (D, Delaware/Chester) today applauded a $10 million grant for the Chester Stormwater Authority approved by the PENNVEST (Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority) Board, and an additional $9,000 for local school districts improvements in Rose Tree-Media and Aston.

“I congratulate Rose Tree-Media, Aston, and the City of Chester on receiving various grants for these improvements,” said Senator Kane. “There are a lot of resources lacking in some of these communities, especially those here in the 9th, and these grants are a step forward in making sure that we have the infrastructure set up for everyone to succeed.”

The PENNVEST grant will support the installment of pipes and drainage systems in the Veteran’s Park area of the City of Chester, to help address flooding and fix the existing stormwater system. The school district grants will fund additional food service equipment through the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
