Free Drive-Thru Shred Event
Unionville High School 750 Unionville Road, Kennett Square, PA, United StatesJoin State Senator John Kane & State Rep. Christina Sappey for a Free Drive-Thru Shred event on June 24th from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. at the Unionville High School located at 750 Unionville Road in Kennett Square.
Kennett Area Community Service (KACS) will be on hand to accept non-perishable food item. Donations are much appreciated by are not required to participate in the Shred Event.
Only paper, paper clips and staples are acceptable. A Maximum of four boxes or bags will be accepted, and you will be required to take your boxes and/or bags with you. The event will run until 11 AM or until the trucks are full. Materials will be shredded on-site.
Broadband and Digital Equity Community Conversation

Policy Hearing – A.I. and Its Impact on the Commonwealth
Upper Providence Township Building 1286 Black Rock Road, Phoenixville, United StatesOn November 16th, Senators Dillon, Kane, Haywood, and Muth will convene a comprehensive policy hearing to explore the potential impacts of Generative Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) on the future of the Commonwealth. With generative A.I.’s rapid advancement, this hearing aims to address growing societal concerns regarding its effects on the workforce, technology, and healthcare. The Senators plan to gather and analyze evidence-based insights to better understand the possible repercussions of generative A.I. They will also deliberate on policy solutions that best mitigate risks such as fraud and misuse associated with this technology.

Policy Hearing: Healthcare Accessibility and Hospital Closure Impacts
Neumann University 1 Neumann Drive, Aston, United StatesOn Monday, March 10, Senate Democratic Policy Committee Chair Nick Miller along with Senator Cappelletti, Senator Kane, Senator Kearney, and Senator Anthony Williams will host a Policy hearing on Healthcare Accessibility and Hospital Closure Impacts.
This hearing will examine the consequences of hospital closures in the commonwealth and its impact on the residents of Pennsylvania. Testifiers will also discuss how to prevent this from happening in the future. This hearing will be hosted in Delaware County, with a Zoom option for members to participate virtually.
This hearing will be at Neumann University, John J. Mullen Communications Center: Student Multipurpose Hall, One Neumann Drive, Aston, PA 19014-1298.

This event aims to provide the senior community and their families with information on how to spot common scams and safeguard personal information. Along with this crucial information, attendees will also hear a presentation from the Delaware County DA’s Office and PennDOT on how to obtain a Real ID.

Senior Expo
Upper Chichester Township Municipal Complex 8500 Furey Road, Upper Chichester, United StatesState Senator John I. Kane and State Representative Carol Kazeem are pleased to announce their upcoming Senior Expo on Thursday, April 10th, 2025. The event will be held at the Upper Chichester Township Municipal Complex, located at 8500 Furey Rd, Upper Chichester, PA from 11am to 1pm. Admission to the expo is free for all seniors. Light lunch and snacks will be provided, and attendees can participate in various giveaways.
This Expo aims to connect seniors with numerous senior resources including COSA, Legal Aid, SEPTA, PennDOT, Highmark, PA Treasury (unclaimed property), IBX and many more. These organizations are instrumental in providing essential assistance to seniors in both Delaware County and Chester County.
"We’re committed to making sure seniors in our community feel supported and valued," said Senator Kane and Rep Kazeem. "Our seniors deserve every opportunity to thrive, and its our duty to provide them with valuable resources and experiences they’ll enjoy."
Additional services such as vaccinations and blood pressure checks will be available to all in attendance. A medication drop-off box will be provided courtesy of the Delaware County District Attorney's office.
